These loud, bigoted extremists are NOT the voices of Faith. They aren’t serving the Christian Faith – or any Faith – they are serving a theocratic corporate political agenda. And, they’ll pervert any decent and/or uplifting and uniting ideologies to destroy hope in their power grab.

Real Christ-centered Christians aren’t out there preaching that divisive message of hate and supremacy. Christ-centered Christians are quietly living the example rather than loud, empty proselytizing. Such ChristianISH extremists are no more Christian than ISIS is Muslim. These ChristianISH extremist “patriots” are about as unAmerican as I can imagine anyone being – everything

they do is a betrayal of our constitutional democratic republic; they want to impose their vision of a theocratic corporate feudal state upon us all. They are, in every way, the antithesis of our American Ideal and voted for Trump in direct opposition to every single word Christ ever spoke. These people are not speaking for Christians or democracy. They speak for the gospel of mammon. These people are extremists.

You say that first infographic, above, is saying the same thing? Okay. I accept your perspective, if that’s how you tell yourself it reads.

However: The infographic called into question my entire Faith and directly said “True Christianity is a lost religion.” And, it referenced all of “Today’s Christians…” The people they are identifying are not Christ-anything. I do not recognize the belief system to which they adhere. No church I’ve been a member of my entire adult life teaches their belief system as anything but the antithesis of Christ’s message. I will no more identify them as “Christian” than I will call ISIS “Muslim” because both demonstrate the same extremist falsity. They are bullying us with a hate-fueled lie that corrupts the message of love, compassion, forgiveness, and hope for all humanity through our Faith.

Every true Christian, living out a Christ-centered Faith – myself included – must feel deeply distressed to have our entire Faith identified with these FALSE PROPHETS! The hate and bigotry, fear and intolerance of their message is in opposition of Christ’s every word. We must not sit quietly by while these hate-mongers steal our Faith’s message of God’s Grace and compassion for all humanity. We must not let these proselytizing hypocrites speak their lies as truth and demonize everyone deemed “other.” We must take back the conversation about our own Christian Faith and real Christ-centered values.

We cannot let their lie be painted as our truth.

It’s extraordinarily simple to know “True Christianity” – Scripture tells us clearly how we will recognize it, from Christ’s own words. It is an immutable litmus test:

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

And, fellow Christians, let us pray for unity and for those who think they serve our Lord with messages of hate and fear and exclusion. Let us pray and hope our omnipotent God of Grace and Solace will lead them back the Truth and back to a right relationship with Him seeking unity with all our fellow humanity, back to a community of Faith.

Colossians 3:12 “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

A Prayer for Our Nation and Hillary

There’s a palpable fear in our nation… a genuine disquiet weighting our hearts and minds, bearing down upon us, crushing our sense of peace. We hear loud voices proclaiming such hatred and bigotry and racism in the name of our Faith, in direct contradiction to our Savior’s own commandment.

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Gracious God of hope and love, we humbly pray
Your mercy upon our world, now and for all time. 
We honor You and pray Your will be done and Your peace that passes understanding come upon us. 
We come to You in humblest gratitude for all the blessings you have heaped upon America. 
We thank You for giving our hearts and our minds recognition of the truth. 
We honor You for the mission for which You call leaders to serve in the world. 
And, we thank You for Obama and Hillary who have heeded Your call to service. 
Father in Heaven, we ask Your healing grace upon the hearts of all humankind. 
We plead for Your intercession in the hearts and minds of all Your creation. 
In this time, there is fear in our hearts, Lord, for the future of our nation and the hope of our children. Fear and worry bear us down and lay weighted upon our hearts and our minds. 
We hear hatred shouted so loud from the hearts of those claiming Your name, Father. 
It tears at our hearts, and it disquiets our minds, and it wars against our peace in You. 
We feel the world becoming dark and frightening, overwhelmed by hatred and violence. 
We see that hatred manifested not only against each other, but manifested directly against Hillary Clinton. 
We know she is not perfect, Lord. 
Neither are we. But we hear Your commands from her lips,Your commands, through your only Son, to treat each other with kindness and love. 
All Mighty Father, we raise her up to be perfected to fulfill Your mission for this nation. 
We plead on her behalf, please surround her with Your hedge of protection, Omnipotent Lord. 
Holy Lord, we seek Your solace and the Holy Spirit’s guidance to turn our words to Your purpose.

What are the weapons of EVIL?

It’s a simple distinction. Ask yourself, what are the WEAPONS of real EVIL? For all of human existence, in every culture, in every society, in every country – the weapons of EVIL are: bigotry; dissent; threats both physical and existential; bullying; greed; fear and hate. You have one candidate embodying all those weapons with every utterance.

PLEASE, AMERICANS: We are NOT just electing our POTUS. We are electing the leader of the free world. The leader of the free world CANNOT – nay, MUST NOT be a cheating, greedy, thieving, adulterous, fraudulent, racketeering, mobbed-up, Pro-Russian, despotic, hate-mongering, bullying, isolationistic, misogynistic, xenophobic, bigoted, incest-fantasizing, porn fiend and narcissistic sociopath and fascist with nothing to offer except his personally branded flaming gilded sh*tstorm!

Trump is the antipathy of our American ideal. Anyone who has endorsed him should never see public office again. He has only the most degrading vision of our nation – he doesn’t even like America! His is a message of degradation, hate, and division, of pitting us against each other. Anyone in the GOP who refuses to condemn him is, by tacit approval, endorsing Trump and everything for which he stands. Trump and everyone who supports him, or in any way enables him to win the Whitehouse, are betraying our nation and the entire free world.

You have Trump legitimizing the degradation of women and girls – legitimizing rape culture – and of white supremacy and he’s pitting us against each other. Then, you have the other candidate calling for more love and kindness; for us to unite and be stronger together, calling for tolerance and compassion; for unity and hope.

The World and FREEDOM is being consumed by hate. America’s president remains the leader of the free world. Pay attention voters: We are choosing the leader of the free world!

There is only one candidate whose message is of what’s good in America… of our unity in these UNITED States of America. There is only one candidate calling for more love and kindness, more tolerance and compassion… and reminding us that, as Americans, we are and always have been #StrongerTogether. There is only one candidate who looks at America and sees promise… she looks forward and offers HOPE. How can there still be a question about whom you should choose?

I keep seeing Bernie’s supporters saying that four years of Trump won’t destroy America. If you think this country can survive four or eight years of Trump, you’ve not paid attention to history. Democracy can fall… yes, even in America. If a man is elected who says he’ll command our troops to commit war crimes, our American constitutional democratic republic will fall. If a man who openly calls for foreign espionage upon Americans is elected, democracy in the nation will fall. If a man is elected who does not honor our allied agreements and contemplates nuclear holocaust even against our allies, American democracy will die – and it will take the whole world with it.

If you think our America can survive Trump, you’ve not been paying attention to the words that are coming from his mouth – he is not speaking Venusian… He’s not even speaking English as an American… Trump’s only language is one of greed and fear and anger and hate. 

I cannot fathom how anyone cannot see that Trump’s entire life stands in contrast to Hillary’s entire life. Moreover, no Bernie supporter can deny that Everything about Trump, for his entire life, stands in the utmost stark contrast to Bernie Sanders’ entire life. So, okay… Bernie didn’t win the nomination. However, Bernie’s revolution has created real and substantive change in the DNC – at least as much change in this past year as all the combined change since the Civil Right’s Movement. I genuinely believe that Bernie’s revolution will go down in history on the list just behind the Emancipation Proclamation and the Civil Rights Movement. Anyone who walks away from the DNC now walks away from that real progressive advancement and the hard fought changes Bernie Sanders brought to the entire ideal of progressivism and within the DNC. Anyone who serves personal animosity over that substantive change Bernie Sanders has already made and will continue to make has given in to animosity and turned their back on hope – has given in to defeat… has given in to fear and anger… has given in to hate.

I get it: Protest votes feel good – they’re the equivalent of using dad’s prized World Series baseball, signed by the whole winning team, to play fetch with the dog. You showed him! Dad’s baseball is destroyed forever, but… Ultimately, you’re the one who ends in the doghouse. 

Voting for the hope that is the foundation of the platform of the DNC is not rewarding anyone for perceptions of misbehavior. It is as simple as embracing Bernie’s revolutionary ideal of hope. That is the real choice we make with our votes; we choose either fear or hope. 

On a personal note, I will NEVER vote for anyone who doesn’t already know that America is still the greatest country and the strongest democracy on this earth. I will NEVER vote FOR anger and animosity. I will NEVER vote FOR fear.

I will be marching #ForwardIntoHope with the DNC and Bernie Sanders and Madam President, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Trump has already damaged our futures…

The TRUTH of what Trump has already done to this nation: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE ELECTION IS OVER?

How do we forget the hate, the bigots who came out in such numbers to support a misogynist xenophobe for whom no one – not even a Native American – is “American” enough not to be targeted by him and his supporters? 

Are we to believe these people will suddenly have a change of heart and stop being bigots against us?

Trump’s rhetoric and his supporters have exposed a deep chasm of hate in our national society. It isn’t something that is just going to go away after Election2016. It’s an evil revealed to be deeply ingrained in today’s GOP voting bloc. But, it’s also been exposed in non-affiliated voters, in libertarian voters, even in democratic voters. It seems half the nation’s decisions are driven by the evils of hate and fear.

The evils of hate and fear cannot look forward because they lack faith and Faith. They are both backward looking attributes, fixated on some fantasy of a NEVER-WAS-time-when-things-were-better. History has shown us how our divisions may be used against us all: let us be educated by that history. It’s so easy to hate; Fear never takes effort. Fear and hate come from reaching inward to the darkest places in our hearts, the places where evil hides away from our Faith. 

Looking forward… choosing hope… that takes constant work, always reaching outward… looking up… always drawing on a self-renewing well of hope and of faith… faith in ourselves… faith in the better nature of humanity… faith that we truly are Stronger Together… faith in our Faith.
