Strange… A little frustrated aside

Don’t you just hate it…
  When your too quick fingers…
    Are tap - tap - tapping…
      Tapping out one thing…
         Flying across the keyboard…
           While your brain is thinking…
              Imaginings blazing…
                Wandering the ether…
                  And your eyes aren’t seeing…
                     What’s forming on the page…
                        But some rare something other…
                          Typos leaping ‘cross the page…
                            While majestic flights of fancy…
Spin and dance among the stars…
                                 When you finally settle…
                                   And look upon the page…
                                     Those typos have created…
                                        Something new and strange…

Too Cool for God?

A poem musing on my path back to deep Faith…

Shattered by my self-flagellation…
Shuttered by self-inflicted penance…
Lost, alone by self-design…
And seeking self-redemption…
I lost the thread of His great Mercy…
Buried myself in sackcloth and ashes…

Held my head up way too high…
Smiled and pretended I didn’t care…
Denied my lost and wandering soul…
Filled with greed, sycophants, eyeing fame…
Pirouette… smile… dance the empty dance…
When did I become too cool for God?

When life was drained of all true meaning…
Abandoned to spiritual starvation…
When left with this longing of my soul…
I became jaded, cynical, incohesive.
The Godly I saw as gullible,
Old fashioned and just plain creepy…
Bible thumpin’ fanatics -- religious nuts.

But, a heart without words…
Facing an unknown future
In a world of confusion and noise…
Brought finally to finally realize
I can’t tune out the Voice of God.
A love for God sustains me.

A heart without word… restless…
May I always find rest in Him!
There’s joy in the presence of God,
And in every deed a purpose.
But, now I ask and I consider…
Am I cool enough for God?

Have I done to much and gone too wrong?
Am I still worthy of his Grace?
How can I even show my face?
Am I cool enough for God?
That doesn’t even matter!
‘Cause He’s cool enough for me!

Poem: "I Love You…"

Experimenting with the acrostic style…
a·cros·tic: əˈkrôstik,əˈkräs-/ noun a poem, word puzzle, or other composition in which certain letters in each line form a word or words.

I
Love You…

Listen to the quickening of my breath
Of the thump-thump, thump-thump beating of my
Virtuous and passionately racing heart
Ever hastened by the nearness of you

You gathered the pieces of my shattered heart
Overlaid the shards upon your own and
United both hearts to beat as one

I Love You…

Vows of Renewal

We were married 21 December 1991.
These are my renewal vows for my Twenty-fifth Anniversary, 21 December 2016

When I learned that I couldn’t create
A love of my own
Out of the ash of human conceit…
When I’d convinced myself
Even God couldn’t love me,
I had to learn to show Him love by loving me
And learn how to give love unselfishly
Then He sent a miraculous gift…
He sent the gift of you …
My *Pashmaloo e kachal…
To show the Truth of love only He could create.
His Word teaches from the very beginning
We were meant for each other always

Always and always to find myself in you
Soul to Soul… complete… made whole.

It’s the truth of our human experience
We must ever be seeking each other
Even from across the wide ocean
Pressed down and shaken together
God blessed me with you,
And blessed me again with the miracle of our son.
I thank God for every breath I’ve taken,
Every breath I will ever take as your wife.
I thank you for all the respect…
All the love you’ve always shown me,
Your one and only *Khonom mushé…
And again dedicate myself for only you
I will honor you for all the time God gives me.

Always and always to find myself in you
Soul to Soul… complete… made whole.

Genesis 2: 14, 18, 22 & 24 “The Lord God took man and put him in the Garden… said ‘It is not good for the man to be alone…’ Then the Lord God made woman… and brought her to the man… For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the will become one flesh.”

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Mark 10:7-9 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become no flesh. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

I Corinthians 13:4 & 7 - 8
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres… Love never fails.”

Love’s Demise

For all those couples out there who tried so hard to hold on… for when you both know you just  can’t make it work…

Love’s Demise

Sunlit darkness descended…
Casting shadows o’er hearts upended.
She smiled at him through her tears,
Turned and stumbled into the years.
He squared his shoulders and walked away…
In the end, they just couldn’t stay.

The eyes of heartache
Tell a story of heartbreak.
Falling tears, hot like blood…
Trailing down like a blood rain flood…
As hope is lost, with heaving sighs…
Two hearts convulsed in Love’s demise.

Too Much, Too Much!

We need more love and more tolerance to lead us to more compassion to give us more hope and help us bring more peace to our bleeding world.

Too much, too much!
Too much, too much, too much!

You say I’m wrong.
He says she’s wrong.
She says he’s wrong.
They say we’re wrong.

Too much, too much!
Too much, too much, too much!

You cry, “Stupid!”
He charges, “Uninformed!”
She judges, “Insane!"
They condemn, “Immoral!”

Too much, too much!
Too much, too much, too much!

You hate me. Why?
He hates her. Why?
She hates him. Why?
They hate us. Why?

Too much, too much!
Too much, too much, too much!

More love, more tolerance!
More compassion, more hope, more peace!

I won’t hate you.
She needs to hear him.
He must understand her.
We will embrace them.

More love, more tolerance!
More compassion, more hope, more peace!

Bumble Bee

A short poem musing upon the humble bumbled bee

Bumble, bumble little bee,
How you fly is beyond me
Buzz-a-wuzza, buzz-a-bee
That whizzy buzz is music to me.

Midnight in the Oasis

Two souls united in beat of hearts…
When Moon rises high among the stars…
A torrid swelling under velvet midnight skies.
Heat surging, mounting with our sighs…
Our bodies writhing twixt and twain…
Where oft and oft our love hath lain.
When life too frigid grasps and holds…
These secret moments our hunger enfolds
A midnight oasis… for us alone…
A space in which the world may atone…
For all the darkness and abandonment.
From the rush of heated cohabitants…
Again, again, our hearts full… pledging…
To the warm glow of intimacy after coupling…
The wellspring of urgency spent in symbiosis…

…Of our languid midnight in the oasis.

Forgiveness

With Him there is forgiveness
By the blood of His covenant
For many, for all… He was poured out

For the forgiveness of sins
When we are ever unworthy
By His blood we are redeemed

When we only believe…
By the grace of God… By the mercy of the Lord…
We unworthy receive forgiveness

Eyes are opened to the darkness
We see the darkness of life without Him
We are turned from darkness to the Light

From the Satan’s power to the glory of the Lord
Not by our own will – not by our deeds
We are forgiven… We are cleansed… We are sanctified

Our place by His side is assured
In our faith we shall testify of His Grace
With all our soul we shall praise and adore

In our hearts shall we magnify His Holy Name
Upon our heads the Holy Spirit rests

God encompasses… God among us… God within

Acrostic poem: My Forever Valentine

My Forever Valentine

My forever Valentine
You will always be in my heart

Fidelity and loyalty are my pledge
One heart of love laid bare for you
Reverently made an altar to Love
Endowed with sanctity by your devotion
Veracity writ in your every glance
Enduring loyalty and sustaining love
Reverently offered in your gentle touch

Valentine’s Day and every day
Are ours ever and forevermore
Love plucked down from the stars
Entwining our two hearts in one
Nestling here in our embrace
Testifying God’s great gift to us
In gentle, softly whispered kisses
Nature blessed our noble hearts to
Encircle our souls united across all time

An experimental form: Dogma

NIV Luke 6:37 "Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven."

What ever belief system you embrace, the words above should be the words by which we all live. Dogma grinds us down as it is imposed upon us.

The dogma of the agenda of politicalism
   The dogma of religion-ism
  The dogma of condescending intellectualism
  The dogma of ecologicalism
  The dogma of capitalism
   The dogma of socialism
   The dogma of communism
   The dogma of democratizationism
   The dogma of conservatism
   The dogma of liberalism
   The dogma of anarchism
   The dogma of corporationism
   The dogma of radicalism
   The dogma of fundamentalism
   The dogma of imperialism
   The dogma of sectarianism
   The dogma of tribalism
   The dogma of judgmental-ism

  Dogma is always right…
to exclusion of all the other -isms.
Only one dogma can ever be right…
  making all the rest wrong.
Those -isms men lay down your lives for…
  dying and killing and hating…
Dogma is the big stick at the gate where
  the guard dogma always excludes.

  Dogma… dogma… dogma… dogma… dogma
  Dogma… dogma… dogma… dogma
  Dogma… dogma… dogma
  Dogma… dogma
  Dogma…
  Dog with a bone!

Broken Dreams

Broken Dreams
Before There Was Love - written in 1989

I dreamed a dream…
A life where I was happy.
I loved and was loved.
A gentle lover held my hand
And showed me the way to joy.

Our love gave us precious treasure,
The gift of sweet laughter,
The patter of tiny feet…
Myself, a mother looking on…
My lover, a father smiling gently…
Our children dancing joyfully about him.

I dreamed a dream…
A broken dream I couldn’t make true.
In waking truth I am alone.
The lover who held my hand
Led me only to pain.

My love returned no treasure…
Only pain and regret,
Bewilderment and betrayal…
Only the sound of retreating steps…
Myself, a woman alone, looking on…
My lover, a fading shadow, deeping pain…
Our children a broken dream,
Cutting deep as a knife in the night.
